A Grand Prix is not one broadcast but a weekend of them. Practice, qualifying and the race are separate sessions across separate days, sprint weekends add another two, and the calendar spans time zones from Melbourne to Las Vegas — so half the challenge is simply knowing when a session actually starts where you are.

Why one stream never covers a race weekend

Sessions are listed individually rather than as a single event, because that is how they are broadcast and how people watch them. Coverage is also more territory-dependent than most sports: the same race sits behind a paid broadcaster in one country and free-to-air in another.

Two championships run at once

Points go to the top ten finishers on a sliding scale, and every driver's score also feeds a separate constructors' table for their team. That double accounting is why a team will sometimes ask a driver to hold position or concede a place — the outcome that suits the team's championship is not always the one that suits the driver's, and those calls decide seasons.

Races are won on strategy as often as pace

Tyre compounds degrade at different rates, a mandatory change forces at least one stop, and a safety car neutralising the field can hand a race to whoever pitted a lap earlier. Watching a Grand Prix without following the pit windows means missing most of what actually determines the result — the overtake you see on track is usually the consequence of a decision made ten laps before.

Sprint weekends change the running order

On a handful of rounds each year the format is rewritten: one practice session instead of three, a separate qualifying for a shorter Saturday race, and points on offer before Sunday. Teams get far less time to set the car up, which tends to scramble the order and reward whoever guessed best on Friday.

A calendar built across every time zone

Two dozen-plus rounds run from Australia in the early part of the year through Europe's summer to the night races in the Middle East, and start times swing by twelve hours or more depending on where the paddock has landed. Each session above lists its own start time so a race weekend does not require a calculator.

Whatever is on is listed above, free and in HD, with more than one link per fixture so a source that gives out costs you a click rather than the game. Not what you came for? Sportnoch also covers MotoGP, soccer and UFC.
